Compromises in 2006
Compared to 2005 the total number affected was down a bit from about 52.7 million to about 48.8 million. The number of large compromise incidents was 118 (compared to 64 in 2005), small compromise incidents 261 (2005:52) and there were 102 unknown compromise incidents (2005:20) reflecting a huge growth in the number of incidents. In 2006 the number of non-financial breaches far exceeded the financial breaches.
